First, let me say that I love and adore authors and writers. I admire their dedication to their craft and I had always openly envied them. Now I have the wonderful opportunity to work with independent authors from around the world and it’s the most rewarding work I’ve ever been a part of. I’m also in a position where I’m required to write about 5000 words per week and am finding the business of being a writer very fulfilling. I’m an author myself and I write to help other writers because I want to see them succeed.
Some of you may know me and some of you may not. I started out with my website and blog several years ago, when I realized how much I missed the publishing industry and creating art. I revisited my heart’s desire to be a book cover designer and writer. I had no idea how successful I would be.
It quickly occurred to me how many independent authors were out there, and considering I had formerly worked for ACE books of New York, I thought my services would be welcomed, and they were.
Along with my cover design, I began my research, hours and hours and days and days that turned into months of researching the topics of writing and self-publishing. Before I knew it, some were calling me The Indie Author Advocate®.
Working in the publishing industry has given me extensive insight into the circumstance of the independent author. After years of working with independent authors while they developed their platforms and marketing plans, I’ve gained both general and specialized knowledge that I thought could be brought together to help other indies.
