Weekend Warrior: Jon Jones Eyes UFC 235 Title Defense Opposite Anthony Smith

Jon (Bones) Jones is much deeper into the minus money than he typically is during a title defense, but there is value to be found elsewhere.

The next opponent for Jones is the veteran fighter Anthony Smith who will be vying for his title in UFC 235.

-1000: Jon Jones moneyline to beat Anthony Smith. Usman repeatedly took the one-time Missouri wrestling star down and held him, as Woodley could generate no offense. Woodley was a -200 favourite so the line movement suggests there is buzz about an upset.

Earlier, Jones was also served a one-year suspension after he was pulled from the main event of UFC 200 for an unrelated failed test.

While battling legal and personal issues, Jones has not lost a fight in the last decade. My second half, I vow to respect myself better. After a couple of decision wins and a fascinating draw against "Wonderboy" Thompson, he despatched a clearly out of his depth Darren Till at UFC 228.

The 26-year-old headed into his short-notice fight with Canadian Misha Cirkunov having already scored quick knockout wins in his past two bouts.

Q. Do you have a message for your fans ahead of your fight?

The rest of the card offers an intriguing matchup between former welterweight champion Robbie Lawler and undefeated wrestling powerhouse Ben Askren.

This is an evenly matched 170-pound fight. "Chaos" was in friendly relations with UFC president Dana White, as the two went to White House together. Lawler is a competitor, the incredibly heralded and charismatic Askren will have his hands full until Lawler is stopped or the final bell sounds. "I'm realizing how much I don't know still about this sport". Robbie Lawler will bring the fight to Askren, the only fighter who will be looking for a takedown in this fight is Ben Askren and the questions really are can he consistently do so while weathering the storm in the process?

Smith continued after the illegal knee and said he didn't want to win by disqualification. Askren's rights were acquired by the UFC in a trade with ONE in exchange for Demetrious Johnson. While MMA enthusiasts will criticize Lesnar for being a WWE wrestler, his credentials are proof of how good he is in the octagon. I still can't believe the UFC on ESPN. Zabit is one of the most impressive strikers I've ever seen and wows everyone in each fight more than the last.

The one most intriguing factor surrounding this fight, however, is Usman's gas tank.

Covington, wanting to know why he was overlooked for this Sunday's title fight despite being the number one contender, has been appearing at UFC events all week. I think if I do that, everything will be okay. "I'm fighting the best fighters in the sport, at the best time of the sport. I'll just have to f*ck your auto when you come outside of Palms". When everything is settled, I know he's tough.
