'The Voice': Miley Cyrus Thanks Janice Freeman Following the Former Contestant's Death

Janice was reportedlt at home with her husband, Dion, when she began to complain that she was unable to breathe. After her husband performed CPR on her, she was treated by paramedics and later pronounced dead at a hospital.

She and Cyrus shared a close bond that lasted after Freeman left the show, as she revealed on Twitter in January 2018 that the "Nothing Breaks Like a Heart" singer even helped cover her housing bills for six months. The statement added the singer appeared to have "a blood clot" which had "travelled to her heart".

Freeman has dealt with multiple health issues throughout her life, including cervical cancer, meningitis and lupus.
