MLB Free Agent Rumors: Giants Meet With Bryce Harper

Harper initially drew a ton of interest from the Phillies and Yankees, but whether it came down to the money, or the length of the deal, it appears talk of him landing there has fizzled a bit.

Now it's no surprise that adding Harper would make the Giants a significantly better team, but how realistic is the possibility of the team signing him?

Judge was asked who would move from right to center field in the event NY was able to add Harper in free agency.

"He's got more speed than me, man", Judge said. "Wherever he wants to play". Let's not forget that veteran outfielder Brett Gardner is also around, making this Byrce Harper trade seriously ridiculous when you stack all of this together. Last year's preseason prize signing and designated hitter Giancarlo Stanton has also played right field when Judge was injured.

Despite the way the market has unfolded this winter or the growing list of teams inquiring, the Phillies still remain confident they will land one of Harper or Manny Machado.

The odds at this late offseason date are not high that either player ends up with the Yankees.

"Obviously [Harper] is a great player". Interestingly enough, maybe. While surrounded by cacti and palm trees collectively, I have had time to soak in the atmosphere of west coast baseball, and reflect on the more recent resurgence of Bryce Harper's possible appearance in pinstripes this season.

Yankees third baseman Miguel Andujar and shortstop Didi Gregorius were being honored alongside Boone at Tuesday's awards dinner.

Harper remains a free agent and is looking to command a lucrative, long-term deal that could reach $300 million over 10 years.

"If he comes over, he makes the team better", Gregorius said. There have been rumors that the offer might've increased during the offseason, and the outfielder reportedly met with team owner Ted Lerner for a few hours before Christmas. "Make it the right choice for your family".
