West Ham United chairman David Gold is in no doubt whatsoever that Marko Arnautovic will remain at the club until 2022, and has insisted repeatedly and forcefully that "footballers are loyal people who always see out the entirety of their contracts".

West Ham have rejected a £35million bid from a Chinese Super League club, believed to be the champions Shanghai SIPG, for the 29-year-old Austrian global.

Danijel Arnautovic, who is also the player's brother, sent a strongly worded statement to talkSPORT revealing the player's intention to move to the Far East. This is what he wants.

While some Hammers seem adamant that Arnautovic won't leave during the January transfer window, a plethora of fans have fired into the Austrian amidst the transfers rumours, and here's a flavour of what some of the fans have said about these recent goings-on and many have likened this situation to that of the Dimitri Payet saga.

Mesut Ozil has recovered from a knee injury but we doubt is Unai Emery will name him in his first XI on Saturday.

"I predict with complete confidence that we'll look back at the whole thing and laugh on the day of Marko's testimonial in 2026 as he tearfully hangs his boots up and joins the coaching staff".

'We know Marko is a very good player so maybe a lot of clubs will want him to play for their team but at the moment he is a West Ham player and we want to keep him.

West Ham host Arsenal on Saturday and Pellegrini has no qualms about playing Arnautovic despite the speculation.

"If it was £50m between Wilson or Arnautovic I would go with Marko", he told The Debate on Sky Sports.

'Marko is professional and is preparing himself for the Arsenal game. But you never know what can happen in the future.

Therefore the club have had to make contingency plans to replace Arnautovic if forced to sell.

Callum Wilson has scored 10 goals in all competitions for Bournemouth this season.

Meanwhile, Jack Wilshere will step up his fight for full fitness next week.

Now he is set to resume light training on Monday and could be ready to play again in six weeks.
