"Zero has underperformed on day one, despite extensive release (in 4380 screens) and Christmas vacations", trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted about the Rs 20 crore net opening day collections. After an average start of Rs 20.14 crore, it dipped further on the second day with Rs 18.22 crore. The film's total stands at Rs 59.07 crore now. It remains to be seen whether SRK's magic translates into healthy box office numbers.

In the overseas market, Zero has performed similarly.

Just before the release of the film, the King of Bollywood had stated that if "Zero" failed to impress his fans he might not get work for the next six months. The five other Bollywood movies that managed to earn over Rs 100 crore are Sanju, Padmaavat, Thugs of Hindostan, Baaghi 2 and Race 3.

Shah Rukh Khan's film Zero has begun with some mixed reviews. Shah Rukh, in his movie Zero, made a comeback after the gap of nearly one and a half year. The box office response has not been very sound either.

She wrote: "I realised "Zero" is perhaps one of the best, bravest and one of the most important films of the year".

Produced by Khan's Red Chillies Entertainment and Rai's Colour Yellow Productions, Zero follows the high-spirited and vertically challenged Bauua, who abandons his bride-to-be, a NASA scientist with cerebral palsy (Sharma), for a chance to meet superstar Babita (Kaif).
