Trump's former lawyer Michael Cohen pleaded guilty on Thursday to lying to Congress about a proposed Trump real estate project in Russian Federation.

At the very least, the new developments put Trump's 2020 re-election prospects in jeopardy at a time when six out of ten Americans continue to disapprove of his performance. "I look forward to a meaningful Summit again as soon as this situation is resolved!" he tweeted, apparently from aboard Air Force One. Germany also has to wonder: "what will Putin do next if we don't stop him?" Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who much of the world - and the Central Intelligence Agency - believes masterminded Khashoggi's slaying, is expected to attend.

President Vladimir Putin says that Russian Federation has been forced to reduce its dependence on the US dollar because of American political pressure.

Andrei Klimov, the deputy chair of the Russian upper house International Affairs Committee, told Sputnik on Thursday that Russian-US relations may suffer due to Trump's decision to cancel the Buenos Aires summit with Putin.

The president canceled on Putin not long after his former lawyer, Michael Cohen, revealed he had lied to Congress to cover up that he was negotiating a real estate deal in Moscow on Trump's behalf during the Republican presidential primary in 2016.

Moments before departing for his trip, President Trump told reporters at the White House he planned to meet with Putin and said they have a number of things to discuss.

In tweets sent from aboard Air Force One, Trump said he was doing so because Russia had not returned the Ukrainian boats and sailors it seized after accusing them of illegally entering Russian waters near Crimea. But until the Cohen revelations, the US president had not been inclined to react too strongly to the incident. Mr Trump also called national security adviser John Bolton while on board, she said.

The White House has not publicly confirmed the meeting and did not immediately respond to CNN's requests for comment.

The G-20 thus came of age amid USA weakness and culpability, at a time when the world was pointing fingers at Wall Street as the chief culprit in the Great Recession. Coming into this G-20, he faces a series of diplomatic challenges - most notably whether he can strike an agreement with Chinese President Xi Jinping to ease trade tensions that have rattled financial markets. If Trump had gone ahead with the meeting, he would've been accused of "appeasing Russian aggression" just like after Helsinki, Clark said. The Kremlin said Poroshenko's request looked created to cause more tensions in the area. European Union leaders are expected to decide to roll the economic sanctions over for another year when they meet in Brussels in December. The Moscow project only became public knowledge after Trump's inauguration as president the following year.
