Bengals-Browns is a usual meeting, but Bengals-Browns featuring former Cleveland head coach Hue Jackson now serving on the Cincinnati staff is rare. Just two weeks after being let go, he signed with AFC North-rival Cincinnati as an assistant to head coach Marvin Lewis.
"It definitely makes the week easier and I listen to sports radio on the way to work, and to not hear we should fire the coach, the GM, the quarterback, and everyone else, it's nice, and the city deserves it", one fan explained.
Apparently, beating Hue Jackson on the field wasn't enough for Baker Mayfield. "This is pro football, you're dealing with grown men".
"The more you get out there and the more you play well, the more confidence you are going to get in yourself and the people around you", Driskel said Monday.
Woody also pointed out that Mayfield, a walk-on at Texas Tech, transferred to another Big 12 school, Oklahoma. That part of Woody's comments apparently touched a nerve with Mayfield, who clapped back in comments on First Take's social media. I wasn't gonna have a scholarship.
Mayfield irked by Hue's move to Bengals
Mayfield wasn't the only Browns player to interact with Jackson on Sunday. From a per-game perspective, that means Cleveland will be paying Jackson more than $280,000 to coach against them, while the Bengals will be paying him about $16,000 to share his insights about the Browns.
It's not all bad for Jackson.
Cleveland (4-6-1) won on the road for the first time since 2015, emphatically snapping a streak of 25 straight road losses that was one shy of the Lions' NFL record.
Dalton completed 62 percent of his passes for 2,566 yards with 21 touchdowns, 11 interceptions and a passer rating of 89.6, the third-highest of his eight-year career.
