Hugo Lloris offered to stand down as captain of Tottenham Hotspur following his drink-drive charge, according to a report.

"Different clubs didn't allow him to go and play in this tournament", Pochettino said, before joking: "Who took the risk?"

Westminster Magistrates' Court heard officers saw vomit in the auto, which was carrying an unnamed passenger, while Lloris had to be helped from the vehicle.

"He is the first to regret about everything and all that happened is not good". He said he was guilty of this situation and it's irresponsible.

"He's punishing himself. He feels so sorry and so bad because he knows that he made a big mistake". But of course we're not God, that we can judge people. Only we need to try [to ensure] that he understands and he understands that it was a mistake.

"Of course, anyone can make a mistake".

"It's a massive lesson for everyone". He said "Gaffer, I made a mistake". Like a man that he is, he is going to accept everything.

Goalkeeper Lloris sustained a thigh problem during last month's 3-0 win at Manchester United, which meant he missed the subsequent 2-1 loss at Watford and France's worldwide commitments over the past week.

His teammate, Dele Alli, has also been ruled out of the Liverpool game after picking up a hamstring injury while on worldwide duty with England. But in all this history, where is my present? I want a watch or some Korean food.

Spurs fans will hope that their number one returns to club duty ready to display the kind of form that has earned him a place among the top 'keepers in European football, to help the team keep pace with the front-runners in the league.
