The video ends with his character saying, "I want to know the whole story". "There wasn't a fear for me. Things I've seen. Things I know", Ali's Wayne says in the trailer.

The voiceover continues: "My job - there's no certainty". This peace is more haunting than anything.

We finally know when Season 3 of True Detective will arrive and it looks like it might be worth the wait!

There's actually a lot to be optimistic about for True Detective's third season in addition to the teaser. In addition to Ali, this season also features Carmen Ejogo, Scoot McNairy, Mamie Gummer, Stephen Dorff, Michael Greyeyes, Jon Tenney, Deborah Ayorinde, Rhys Wakefield, Sarah Gadon, Emily Nelson, Brandon Flynn, Michael Graziadei, Josh Hopkins, Jodi Balfour and Cyborg himself, Ray Fisher.

The third season of the anthology series is set in the heart of the Ozarks wherein a disturbing crime occurs and a mystery that deepens over decades plays out in the three separate time periods.

Nic Pizzolatto has returned to write eight episodes for Season 3. The overall tone seems quite grim, as is to be expected in any real true crime story worth its salt (and blood), and we get glimpses of Ali in his old age reflecting on the dark deeds. A year later, the second season debuted with Colin Farrell, Rachel McAdams, and Vince Vaughn.

The next installment of True Detective will premiere in January 2019 on HBO. Daniel Sackheim directs alongside Daniel Sackheim, with Green Room director Jeremy Saulnier having helmed the first two episodes.
