In addition to unveiling some new characters and echo fighters, there was plenty more to see during Wednesday's Super Smash Bros. Ultimate information. In fact, make that a galleon load (hint hint). Ultimate will be getting a "limited edition" bundle in Europe. Alucard joins the party as an Assist Trophy.

We also saw two new echo fighters, with Chrom mirroring Fire Emblem's Marth and Dark Samus for Metroid's Samus. Ultimate to help clarify how "clone" characters like Lucina (cloned from Marth) or Dr. Mario (cloned from original Mario) relate to their source material. Read on to find out who they are!

Sakurai says that there will be more than 100 stages in the game, but he also noted that each stage will have Battlefield and Omega (think Final Destination) versions as well.

A fan-favorite character finally announced is Donkey Kong baddie King K. Rool. Haha, yeah, Super Smash Bros. Each stage in the game will also support eight-player battles (additional accessories may be required for multiplayer modes and are sold separately) and feature the ability to turn off hazards like the Yellow Devil in Wily Castle.

We haven't had one of those since The Subspace Emissary in Super Smash Bros. As you may expect, they're based on Samus and Marth respectively, though unlike Richter their play styles and attacks vary slightly from their base characters.

Game director Mashiro Sakurai gave viewers a deep dive into some game modes the new title will have to offer when it launches on December 7 for the Nintendo Switch. If they are fighting on a stage from The Legend of Zelda, for example, they can select any music track included from that franchise, including new additions like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - Main Theme. Ultimate Limited Edition? How about the new amiibo? We know it was a planned Pokemon because it had its own entry in Melee's official strategy guide.

Assist Trophies: Of course, a new whack of Assist Trophies were announced, including Zero (Mega Man X), Knuckles (Sonic), Krystal (Star Fox), Klaptrap (Donkey Kong Country), Kapp'n (Animal Crossing), Chef Kawasaki (Kirby), Gray Fox (Metal Gear Solid), Nikki (Swapnote), Shovel Knight, Rathalos (Monster Hunter), and the damn Moon from Majora's Mask!

Squad Strike - 3v3 or 5v5 battles, with new characters tagging in when a previous one is defeated. A big Super Smash Bros Ultimate campaign sounds like just the thing to tie everything up with a neat little bow.
