"Put yourself in our shoes".

Dalton Jack and Mollie Tibbetts are pictured in a photo posted to Facebook, July 20, 2018. Her family reported her missing the next day after she didn't show up for work.

Jack said he last saw Tibbetts on July 16.

"Mollie was a friend to everybody", said Kim Calderwood, her aunt.

"We were just having conversations on and off through text and Snapchat, and that was about all".

When asked whether he had a message for his missing daughter, the father earlier told HLN, CNN's sister network, "Just hang in there, pie". An Iowa task force is investigating. And I am not going to draw any conclusions about the circumstances of her disappearance.

However, Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation special agent Mike Krapfl confirmed Thursday that the reported sighting of Tibbetts wasn't substantiated and has been ruled out by investigators.

"It's one thing to say, 'You know what, call us and we'll protect your identity, won't tell anybody".

There have been few breaks in the case and investigators were following up on any lead they may come across.

Investigators leading the search for missing University of Iowa student Mollie Tibbetts will be holding a press conference at 9:30 a.m.in Montezuma.

Authorities, with the help of hundreds of volunteers, have scoured swaths of land in Brooklyn and the surrounding Poweshiek County in the search for Tibbetts.

"We believe Mollie is still alive and if someone abducted her, we are pleading with you to please release her", she told the press. "Everyday I feel Mollie's presence with me". "It is our greatest hope that if someone has her, that they would just release her and claim that money we have raised for her freedom". "I don't know that I have the strength in me, and Mollie's lending me her strength".

Investigators held a news conference Friday morning at the Poweshiek County Sheriff's Office about their efforts to find Mollie and the investigation.

Fox News has confirmed search teams were looking through ditches about a mile away from the reserve, near the same farm that FBI investigators were said to have searched for almost two hours last week.
