The Warriors Are Making A Mockery Of The NBA Salary Cap

Enes the Menace tweeted out the image of a certain middle-aged bald guy in a Warrior jersey: "Adam Silver has agreed to a Mid Level Extension with the Golden State, league sources tell ME". How about giving the reigning National Basketball Association champion Golden State Warriors a call, despite the fact that they already had four All-Stars, to see if they were interested? One can understand why a player who averaged 25 points, 13 rebounds, and five assists last season would want something more than a meeting on the books in a few days, particularly in a market moving as fast as this. While the future appeared bright with Cousins and Davis, there was talk in New Orleans that the Pelicans were better without Cousins after they advanced to the West semifinals.

Why didn't National Basketball Association teams want Cousins?

The Warriors lost center JaVale McGee on Sunday to the Lakers, who landed LeBron James with a $153.3 million, four-year contract as the NBA's free agency period began.

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the back-to-back champions have pulled off a shock deal to sign All-Star free agent DeMarcus Cousins.

Here is a list of some of the individual titles Curry, Durant, Green, Thompson and Cousins have between them: Three MVP titles, two NBA Finals MVP award and Defensive Player of the Year.

Cousins was swapped in and out of the lineup by Mike Krzyzewski, as he played the matchup game by starting a more athletic DeAndre Jordan in his place, but Boogie's minutes still remained impactful.

As said at the start of this article, there can be no grudge on the Warriors for taking this deal, and equally on Cousins for going there after being snubbed by the franchise he wanted to stay at. The 2016-17 Warriors, the first with Durant in the fold, were credited with close to 24 wins above replacement, but then declined to 17 wins above replacement last season. Sure, there are questions about how he'll fit on Golden State's roster.

In terms of his health going forward, it's really important to keep in mind the severity of an Achilles injury like this one.

Could Cousins make the Warriors even more formidable in the postseason and lead to a third consecutive title and the fourth in five years?
